Showly

Showly keeps track of what you are watching across TV shows and movies, and where you left off in each one. It is a progress tracker rather than a streaming service, so nothing is watched or downloaded inside the app, and the Android build published in this repository is completely free of Google services.

Trakt.tv is the main data source, with TMDB and OMDB filling in details, which means your history lives in an account you already control and syncs to anything else that speaks Trakt. Anyone building from source supplies their own Trakt client id and secret plus TMDB and OMDB keys through a local properties file, along with a keystore file in the app folder.

A few things are worth knowing before installing.

• Three distribution channels: Google Play, IzzyOnDroid for the Google-free build, and the App Store since January 2025.
• Missing titles: anything absent is added through the import options on the Trakt website, since Trakt is the catalog.
• Regional caveat: users in India may see missing images and errors because the TMDB API is blocked there.
• Translations: Crowdin projects for Android and iOS are open to anyone who wants to translate or fix a string.
• Codebase candor: the maintainer lists architecture simplification, a move to Ktor Client, a Compose migration and more unit tests as outstanding work.

Bug reports go to issues, feature ideas to discussions, and pull requests are welcome as long as you comment on the relevant issue first.
