What is Unvendored?
Unvendored is a directory of open source software, organized so that you can start from a proprietary product you already pay for and find the open source projects that replace it. Entries are grouped by alternative, category, technology stack and license.
How are rankings calculated?
Each listed project carries a health score derived from its public GitHub repository. The score combines stars, forks, watchers and contributor count, discounts the advantage of older repositories so that recent projects are comparable, and applies a penalty that grows with the time since the last commit. The intent is to rank maintained projects above popular but abandoned ones.
Contribute
Submissions are open. If a project is missing, submit it and it enters the review queue before publication.

The site runs on a fork of OpenAlternative, released under GPL-3.0.
