Cal.diy takes the Cal.com scheduling platform and removes every piece of enterprise and commercial code from it. What remains is a booking platform for individuals and self-hosters, with no license key, no vendor account and no open core split to work around.

The stack is Next.js, tRPC, React, Tailwind CSS and Prisma, with Daily.co behind video calls. Running it needs Node 18 or newer and PostgreSQL 13 or newer, and a single dx command starts a local Postgres seeded with test users so you can sign in within minutes.

The fork changes what you get compared with the upstream product.

  • No enterprise tier: Teams, Organizations, Insights, Workflows and SSO or SAML have been stripped from the codebase.
  • No license key: everything works from a fresh checkout, with no Cal.com account required.
  • MIT throughout: the whole codebase carries one permissive license rather than a split.
  • Community maintained: contributions land directly in this project instead of an upstream commercial repository.
  • Integrations: calendar and video connections each need their own credentials, obtained per provider.

There is no hosted version, so you run it on your own infrastructure. The maintainers describe it as suited to personal rather than production use, and warn that self-hosting demands real comfort with server administration, database management and handling sensitive data. Anyone who wants supported, commercial scheduling infrastructure is pointed back at the upstream product instead.
