Fincept Terminal packages financial research into a single native desktop application, written in C++20 with a Qt6 interface and an embedded Python 3.11 runtime for analytics, so there is no Node.js and no browser runtime underneath.

Two editions run on one data core. This repository is the free AGPL-3.0 edition, intended for learning, personal use and academic research, and it ships one release a month because the team's daily work happens on the closed source Enterprise build. The maintainers state the repository stays public, that released work stays released, and that issues and pull requests are still reviewed on the monthly cycle.

The open build covers several desks at once.

  • Analytics: DCF, portfolio optimization, VaR and Sharpe, derivatives pricing, fixed income and an 18 module QuantLib suite.
  • AI agents: 37 trader, economic and geopolitics agents running on your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Groq, DeepSeek, OpenRouter or Ollama.
  • Data connectors: more than 100 sources including FRED, IMF, World Bank, DBnomics, Polygon, Kraken and Yahoo Finance.
  • Trading: crypto and equity feeds, a paper trading engine and 16 broker integrations.
  • Automation: a visual node editor, MCP tools and a quant lab for machine learning and factor discovery.

Installers exist for Windows, Debian, Fedora, generic Linux and Apple Silicon macOS. Building from source needs a pinned toolchain of CMake, Ninja, Qt and Python, and the project warns that newer or older versions are unsupported.
