CoMaps
Community-run offline maps app built on OpenStreetMap data, for hikers, cyclists and drivers who want navigation without tracking or ads.
Open Source Alternative to:

CoMaps forks Organic Maps into a community-led, not-for-profit maps app built on OpenStreetMap data, itself descended from Maps.ME. Maps download to the device, so search, route finding and navigation keep working with the radio off, with no account, no tracking and no advertising attached.
The project publishes its governance documents and its finances, funded by donations through Open Collective and Liberapay. Builds are distributed through the App Store, Google Play, F-Droid, Flathub, IzzyOnDroid, Obtainium and Codeberg releases, and signing certificate fingerprints are published so an APK can be verified before it is installed.
The map data carries more detail than a general purpose navigator usually exposes.
- Outdoor mode: hiking trails, campsites, water sources, peaks and contour lines are highlighted for walking and cycling.
- Navigation: voice announcements cover walking, cycling and driving, with Android Auto and CarPlay support.
- Search: places can be found by name, by address or by point of interest category.
- Offline extras: Wikipedia articles, a subway transit layer and track recording all work without a connection.
- Bookmarks and tracks: favorites save with one tap and export or import as KML, KMZ or GPX.
- Built-in editor: map data can be corrected in the app so the fix reaches everyone using OpenStreetMap.
Android, iOS, macOS and Linux are supported, and the Android build has been reviewed by Exodus Privacy. The code is Apache 2.0 licensed, and the project asks for help in design, translation and community work as much as in code.
