Workadventure
A customizable virtual world where teammates move as avatars and video chat starts the moment they walk up to each other.

WorkAdventure builds collaborative virtual worlds that you design yourself, where each person moves an avatar around a map. Approaching a colleague opens a video chat, which brings back the spontaneous encounters that scheduled calls took out of remote work.
The platform targets immersive experiences of many kinds, from recruitment and onboarding to training, digital workplaces and internal or external events, with colleagues, clients and partners in the same space.
A few characteristics decide whether it fits your organization.
- Custom worlds: design the map and the metaverse around it instead of picking from fixed rooms.
- Proximity video chat: the video-chat system triggers when you approach another avatar.
- Any device: the same world runs on desktop, mobile and tablet.
- GDPR: the platform is built to comply, which matters for European organizations.
- Community resources: a map building guide and an awesome-workadventure list collect what others have made.
Production deployment is supported two ways, Docker Compose or a Helm chart for Kubernetes. Local development starts by copying the env template and running Docker Compose, which brings up an OIDC mock server by default, with a second compose file for anonymous access; the local setup has no HTTPS certificates and is not meant for remote servers. A hosted version exists for teams who prefer not to operate it.
