Usertour
Open-source user onboarding platform for building in-app product tours, checklists, launchers and surveys, self-hosted with full control.
Open Source Alternative to:

Usertour lets a team build in-app product tours, checklists, launchers and surveys without shipping a release for every change of wording. It sets itself against Appcues, Userpilot, Userflow, Userguiding and Chameleon, with the difference that the whole platform runs on infrastructure you control.
Integration is deliberately undemanding. If the application runs in a browser it works, whether that application is a single page or spread across many, and custom user attributes with tracked events decide who sees which flow.
The platform is built for teams treating onboarding as product work.
- Environments: production and staging managed inside one account.
- Version tracking: a record of every change to a flow, including who made it and when.
- Targeting: custom attributes and events for segmenting and engaging an audience.
- MCP server: connect an assistant such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex and describe the experience you want.
- AI authoring: the assistant reads your application's design system to match its styling and installs the SDK itself if it is missing.
- Deployment: a Docker Compose file with an environment template, or a one-click Railway template.
Bringing it up means copying the example environment file, filling in the required values and running Docker Compose, after which the app answers on a local port. Self-hosters point their MCP client at their own instance address, shown in the settings, and a Claude Code plugin wires both that connection and the authoring skills in a single step.
