Every product and every agent eventually has to talk to people on the channels those people already use. Novu is the open-source layer that handles that traffic, so teams stop rebuilding Inbox feeds, provider integrations and channel webhooks from scratch at the start of each project.

Two ways of building sit on the same foundation, one API and one unified conversation model. The first is notification infrastructure for products, delivering across Inbox, email, SMS, push and chat. The second is Agent Communication Infrastructure, which connects an agent you already built to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, WhatsApp and email.

The platform covers the parts most teams would otherwise write themselves.

• Workflow engine: notification workflows with branching and per-channel conditions decide how each message goes out.
• Digest engine: several notifications batch into one message instead of flooding a user.
• Embeddable Inbox: a real-time notification center component drops into a web app, alongside a preferences component users control themselves.
• Bidirectional messaging: inbound messages from each channel are normalized, routed to your agent and answered through the same layer.
• Bring your own agent: whatever you built works, and Novu places no constraint on the agent logic.

A no-code email editor and one API across messaging providers round out the product side. Novu connects an agent to the world rather than being the agent itself, and a single connect command wires an existing agent into Slack, Telegram or email in a couple of minutes for a trial.
