Cozy

Cozy is an audiobook player for Linux, made for listening that never fits comfortably into a general purpose music player. It imports a library, keeps it browsable, and remembers exactly where each book was left, which is the one thing a music app reliably gets wrong.

Books arrive by import or by dragging files into the window, and several storage locations can be registered at once. Playback covers DRM free mp3, m4b, m4a including aac and ALAC, flac, ogg, and wav. MPRIS integration wires the player into the desktop environment, so media keys and playback information behave as expected.

Day to day, the features are the ones a listener actually reaches for.

• Sorting: browse the library by author, reader, or name, with search across the whole collection.
• Position memory: every book resumes at the point where it stopped.
• Speed control: playback speed is set per book rather than once for everything.
• Sleep timer: playback stops after a chosen interval.
• Offline mode: a book kept on an external or network drive can be copied to internal storage for listening on the go.

Flatpak from Flathub is the preferred install, with Flatseal available to grant access to audiobook folders outside the sandbox. Distribution packages exist for openSUSE, Fedora, Arch, Debian, Void, Solus, MX, Ubuntu, OpenBSD, and Nix, though they usually trail the Flatpak. Translation happens on Transifex and development is documented for GNOME Builder, Fedora, and Ubuntu.
